ConnectingVA RIDE HOME REWARDS 

The ConnectingVA Ride Home Rewards Program (also known as the Guaranteed Ride Program) is a partnership with DRPT. All Guaranteed Ride requests must be made in the Connecting VA account via App or Website. 

Many people drive alone to work because they worry that by sharing a ride or riding the bus, they will not be able to get home when an unexpected crisis occurs and they need to leave work early or unexpectedly work overtime.  Don’t fret about being stranded at work without your car when you get that unexpected call to pick up your sick child from school or the exciting news of a child or grandchild’s impending arrival. There is a service that will get you from work to your home or point of origin.

If you are a full or part-time employee and use a carpool, vanpool, or ride transit to commute to work the ConnectingVA Ride Home Reward will get you home when one of life’s unexpected events happen.

Whether it is a family emergency, unscheduled overtime, sick child at school, an elder parent needs assistance, or you become ill at work, we have your ride home covered.

There are eligibility requirements, so be sure to read the Participation Guidelines before you need the service.

Eligibility requirements in include the following:

• Must be a member of the Connecting VA program. Not a member?  Join Now 
• Work in the Hampton Roads region. See Participation Guidelines for specific counties and cities.
• Carpool, vanpool, ride the bus, or use another transit service to commute to and from work.
• Record your carpool, vanpool, and/or transit commute to work trips.

The service is available Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, excluding federal and state holidays as listed in the Participation Guidelines.

All rides must be requested by 4pm.

ConnectingVA and ConnectingVA Ride Home Rewards are programs provided by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) in partnership with TRAFFIX, a service of Hampton Roads Transit.
