Bike Repair Station Ribbon Cutting on 35th St in Norfolk
Ring the bike bells, because May is Bike Month! Bike Month is designed to get more people riding and educate on the benefits of biking. On Saturday, May 1st, 2021 TRAFFIX joined Freshtopia for the LIVE. LIFE. FRESH. Boom Box Bike Ride that takes place every Saturday. Prior to the bike ride, TRAFFIX informed riders of our mission to decrease traffic congestion and reduce emissions in the Hampton Roads area. TRAFFIX encouraged riders to sign-up for the awesome (and free!) TRAFFIX app and to log their trips when commuting differently. And we did not stop there! TRAFFIX is challenging bike riders from Saturday’s event to log THREE non-SOV trips in the month of May for their lucky chance to win an Amazon gift card.
We began the ride with a ribbon cutting to celebrate the bike repair station and bike racks that were donated for the 35th street corridor by TRAFFIX.
At the conclusion of the ribbon cutting ceremony, the bicyclists were happy to kick off Bike Month on their 8-mile cruise around the Mermaid City. Continue to pedal through the month of May – and as always, be sure to log those trips
